PUBLIC SKATING

Public skating sessions at the Fred Rust Ice Arena provide everyone the opportunity to enjoy the sport of ice skating. The arenas lighting system takes your skating experience to the next level with exciting new features, including; colorful laser beams, black lights, and image projections that dance across the ice. The arena also offers a variety of special events throughout the year, such as the popular Winter Wonderland series during the winter holiday season.

Birthday Parties
Hosting a birthday party during our public skating sessions is a great way to have fun with all your friends.  To reserve a table  (no additional charge) email bellac@udel.edu, at least 2 weeks prior to your party.  A birthday confirmation email will be sent with all the details for your special day.  Our lounge is also a perfect place to hold your birthday party. Our lounge can be rented from Noon-3pm or 1pm-4pm(3hrs max) for a cost of $150 for the 3hrs.  The lounge is not accessible with skates and is above our bleachers. The room has couches, lounge chairs and tables.  


Guest & Player Behavioral Guidelines:
We are committed to creating a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience at the ice arena for all guests and players. Guests and/or players exhibiting inappropriate behavior (i.e. using foul or abusive language, making abusive gestures, or appearing intoxicated) are subject to ejection from the arena. Repeat offenses will result in the loss of arena privileges, including teams not being able to use the arena. If you observe a problem, please contact an arena staff member or public safety officer immediately. To assist with this endeavor, guests and players are asked to abide by the following Behavioral Guidelines:
 

  • Guests should not take any action that inhibits the progress of any game or event.

  • Guests and players should avoid the use of foul, racist, sexist, abusive language, and refrain from making any obscene gestures.

  • Guests should refrain from any display of inappropriate affection in a public setting.

  • Only authorized individuals may enter the ice surface and other restricted areas, and guests must refrain from entering such areas without proper authorization.

  • Guests should follow all local, state, or federal laws and will follow the instructions of event staff.
