FAQS

Q: How do I determine my son/daughters "hockey age"?
A: Register by age your child will be when the league begins.  Junior Division ages are 8-12 years old. As long as players are 8 years old, when the league begins, they can play in the Junior Division. Senior Division ages are 13–18-year-olds, must still be in high school.

The question I receive is regarding players who are 12 years are old and will be turning 13 during the season.  In this situation, we leave the decision to the parents and players.  A lot of the travel players who will be turning 13 years old play in the Senior Division to get ready for the 2025 season. This gives them the opportunity to play with older players.  Other players depending on their skill level play in the Junior Division.  The staff can provide guidance during the Junior evaluations and the coaches can provide feedback.  We want to ensure everyone will succeed.

Q: Will ice time be equal?
A: Each player will receive an equitable amount of ice time. Please be mindful that it is not possible to achieve EXACT ice time, particularly if there is an odd number of players a given game. Any concerns should be brought to the director's attention.

Q: Is full equipment required?
A: Yes, full equipment is required, players must provide their own gear.

Q: Will checking be allowed during the league?
A: No, this is NON-CHECK League for both divisions.

Q: How are coaches selected?
A: They volunteer. Most coaches are parents of players, some have played competitive hockey others have not.  Please give them the respect they deserve for volunteering.

Q: What are the rules?
A: USA Hockey modify game rules. Rules will be similar to overtime 3 vs. 3 NHL rules. A copy of the league rules will be provided to parents prior to the first game.
