2023 Outdoor Pool Season Protocols and Guidelines

These guidelines could be updated during the season.
Guests Policy:
CREDIT CARD PAYMENT ONLY; CASHLESS SYSTEM
Members Guest Fees:
$7 Ages 4 & Up
$5 Ages 3 and Under
$60 for Guest Card (Guest Card is good for 10 individual visits, ONLY available to purchase if you are a pool member)
- Guest(s) must be accompanied by an adult member (18 or older) at all times.
- Members under 18 are NOT ALLOWED to bring a guest without the adult member present.
- Guest(s) must be under the immediate supervision of the sponsoring member at all times.
- Guest(s) may not remain within the pool complex (inside the pool entry gate) without the sponsoring adult member.
- Guest(s) fees are paid at the Outdoor Pool entrance; CREDIT CARD ONLY; we are a cashless system.
UD Faculty, Staff and UD Students ONLY can use the pool at a Daily Rate:
MUST SHOW VALID UD #1 CARD FOR ENTRANCE, you will NOT receive a membership card and guest cards cannnot be purchased.

UD Faculty, Staff and UD Students can bring guests per the guest fees listed above
Lap Swimming Operation:
Monday-Friday Noon-1pm and 6pm-Close, if pool closes at 6pm or earlier no lap swimming in the evening. Lap Swimming is NOT available on the weekends. See pool hours for extended lap swimming hours starting August 7, 2023.
Parking: Parking Map
Parking for the pool is provided for free in FRONT of the Fred Rust Ice Arena (Lot 1) . Parking on the side of the Fred Rust Ice Arena (Lot 63) is reserved for UD Faculty/Staff and handicap parking. If you need special arrangements, call Parking Services at 831-1184. You DO NOT need a parking permit to park in FRONT of the Fred Rust Ice Arena. If you park on the side for handicap parking you MUST have a handicap parking permit displayed.
- All vehicles must be parked in a valid space
- Parking is not allowed in the grass, fire lanes or other spaces not designated as a parking area
- If you park in a meter area you must pay the meter fee as the meters are enforced 24/7
Snack Bar/Food/Special Events:
The University will ONLY provide life jackets as needed. Swimmers will obtain a life jacket from the pool office and the manager will then clean the life jacket when returned. All other equipment (kick boards; swimming aides; water noodles; etc) will NOT be provided by University.
Pool Slides:
The new pool slides will be operational. One person at a time per slide. Swimmer will wait at the bottom of the steps to ensure social distancing. Please visit the Pool Policies and Regulations page for more details on the slides.

2023 Membership Information
You must be a member to use the pool we do not sell community day passes.
In order to join the Outdoor Pool, you must register and pay a membership fee and agree to the Pool Policies and Regulations. Violations of these policies, regulations and/or conduct detrimental to others will result in termination of your membership. Membership registration is ONLINE ONLY. Registrations will NOT be accepted in person. A member must be 18 years or older to register as an individual. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
UD employees must enter their UD ID number at checkout to receive the discount.
A new membership card will be provided for every member listed on the membership registration. Membership cards must be picked up the first time you attend the pool for the 2022 season. You are REQUIRED to present the membership card every time you enter the pool. In addition, anyone age 18 or older must ALSO present a photo ID every time, such as a driver’s license. A $25 replacement fee per card will be charged and entry to the pool WILL NOT be permitted until the card is replaced.
Previous pool ID cards or UD ID cards will NOT be accepted for membership entry to the pool.

*DEPENDENT POLICY
Per IRS guidelines, a child is considered a minor dependent through age 23. If you have a "dependent child" living in your house other than a biological child, you must have custody/guardianship of that dependent and provide legal documents of that custody/guardianship and proof of residency as the same address. Membership will not be active until proof is provided.
Any person age 24 or older much provide a proof of residency at the same address, such as a driver's license, in order to be added as an adult dependent. Membership will not be active until proof is provided.

OUTDOOR POOL RENTALS-
RATES
- Non Pool Members - $ 225 per hour
- UD Pool Members $175 per hour
- Pavilion during the day: $175 for 2hrs Noon-2pm or 3pm-5pm, email kaden@udel.edu to inquire about renting one of the pavilions. This option is only available to UD Outdoor Pool Members, Non Members are not allowed to rent the pavilion during normal operating hours. All guest fees are still in effect when renting the pavilion.
There is also a $20/hr. lifeguard fee on all pool rentals, a minimum of 2 guards are required. Additional guards will be required depending on attendance at party and if party is using splash pool. We only rent the pool for private events on Saturday and Sunday. For more information and to inquire about available dates , email kaden@udel.edu.
