AT BIG SANDY HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year letterwinner for Coach Jacob Hooker at Big Sandy... selected Collin Street Bakery/Texas Sports Writers Association Class 2A All-StateFirst Team at pitcher and Second Team at designated hitter as a senior in 2017... also picked up Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association Class 2A All-State First Team recognition at pitcher as a senior... helped guide squad to a UIL Class 2A State Championship Game appearance in 2017... named to the UIL Class 2A State Championship All-Tournament Team as a senior... selected the District 25-2A Most Valuable Player in 2017... posted a 10-1 mark on the mound and batted .511 as a senior... named Collin Street Baker/Texas Sports Writers Association Class 2A All-State Second Team at catcher and Honorable Mention at pitcher as a junior in 2016... also picked up Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association Class 2A All-State First Team recognition as a pitcher as a junior... tabbed District 25-2A Offensive MVP in 2016... logged an 8-2 record with a 0.57 ERA, three saves and 98 strikeouts in 49.1 innings and hit .633 (57-for-90) with 31 runs, 21 doubles, five triples, one home run, 39 RBI and 19 stolen bases as a junior... named District 25-2A MVP as a sophomore in 2015... tabbed the District 24-1A Newcomer of the Year in 2014.
 
PERSONAL: Austin Bryant Hendrix was born on March 21, 1999 in Conroe, Texas to Matthew and Alicia Hendrix... grew up in Dallardsville, Texas... majoring in Sport Management and wants to be a zoo keeper... his father, Matthew, played at San Jacinto College... older brother, Ryan, who pitched for the Aggies from 2014-16, is in the Cincinnati Reds farm system... has a younger brother, Brandon... saved and raised a baby deer... was treasurer of Student Council in high school... enjoys collecting seashells and bird watching.
