Club Men's Volleyball

The University of Delaware Men's Club Volleyball Team are NCVF National Champions of 2017
Team Description
The UD Men's Volleyball team is comprised of competitive volleyball players that hail from all around the country including New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware to name a few. There are three teams - an A team, a B team, and a C team. The A team consists of the upper echelon of players and competes at the National Championships every April. The A team requires the highest level of commitment and dedication. Being that UD does not have a D1 team for Men’s Volleyball, our A team is run similar to what our D1 team would be. The B team is our second-tier team for aspiring volleyball players who want to better themselves to one day move up to the A team and compete at the National Championships. The C team is for aspiring athletes who want to play volleyball at the collegiate level, but don’t have the experience or level of commitment to play on A or B. The National Championships is the largest tournament of the year in which approximately 480 teams partake (Men's and Women's). In 2022, the NCVF Nationals will be hosted on April 14-16 in Phoenix, AZ. The club is looking for players who have a passion for the game of volleyball and can remain committed to the club throughout the year. When not in practice, club members enjoy playing competitive pick-up games on the green and Harrington Beach.
National and/or Regional Affiliation
The Men's Club Volleyball team is a member of the Eastern Collegiate Volleyball Association (ECVA), the club conference in the region. The team is also a member of the National Collegiate Volleyball Federation (NCVF). Our team is also a proud supporter of the DezyStrong Foundation, as well as the B+ Foundation.
Membership Requirements
Dues can range from $150-$250 per semester depending on the size of the roster, the amount of fundraising, what team you are on, and other annual expenditures (membership, tournament, equipment, and jersey fees). It is highly encouraged to participate in weight-training and cardio activities in addition to the scheduled practice times to achieve a high level of fitness, which will improve your skills and play. Attendance at practices and tournaments is mandatory, unless a serious matter arises (family emergency, sudden illness).

Practice Information
Practice days differ depending on which team you are on. A team has indoor practices Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, as well as one outdoor practice on Sundays (weather permitting). B team has indoor practices Mondays and Thursdays, as well as one outdoor practice on Sundays (weather permitting). C team practices on Tuesdays and has the option to come to our weekly outdoor practices on Sundays. All practices are mandatory unless there is an emergency. If a member is to miss a practice, an email/phone call/text to the President or Vice President is required, along with an explanation, and it must be submitted in a timely fashion as to not interfere with scheduling of drills and games.
Tournament/Game Information
We will have multiple tournaments each semester that consist of traveling to other schools, primarily leaving Saturday mornings and returning Saturday nights. Some tournaments may be overnight trips. Just like practices, tournaments are mandatory in order to remain on the team. Many tournaments are team-specific. A and B teams will have the most tournaments, and C team will have 1-2 tournaments per semester.
