Aquatics

Campus Recreation has multiple aquatic opportunities available.

Facility
The 15,000 square foot natatorium located in the Lil Bob includes a 25 yard pool, diving well with 1 meter, 3 meter, and platform boards, and seating for approximately 700 spectators. The pool offers designated lap swimming times throughout the week to university students, employees, and others with access to the recreation facility.

LAP SWIMMING
Open lap swimming is offered to facility users at various times throughout the week.  The diving well is not open for recreational swimming.

SAFETY CERTIFICATIONS
University of Delaware Campus Recreation offers select American Red Cross certification courses to students, faculty and staff.  Taught using hybrid formats, participants complete online modules prior to in-class sessions at the Carpenter Sports Building.

Sample Courses potentially offered are:
  • Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED
  • Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
    • *Offered in the spring semester only
  • Lifeguarding Review (Recertification)

Blue Hen Swim School
GROUP SWIM LESSONS - Youth & Adult
Blue Hen Swim School is excited to offer group swim lesson instruction this summer!
 
YOUTH Group Swim Lessons
Lessons are scheduled in the mornings, Monday through Thursday for each two-week session.  Fridays are used only as inclement weather makeup days in the event of an electrical storm that impacts planned lessons.  
 
Youth Group Swim Lessons are age restricted to children ages 5-12.  Prerequisite skills, used to determine which level a child should be registered for, can be found here 
 
ADULT Group Swim Lessons
Lessons are scheduled on Wednesday evenings each week.   Adult Group Swim Lessons are only available to UD students, faculty, and staff.
