2017 (SOPHOMORE): Pitched in 16 games, all starts, logging a 3.79 ERA and 82 strikeouts in 90.1 innings... started 10 games in SEC play, logging a 2-4 record with a 4.55 ERA and 57 strikeouts in 57.1 innings... pitched in the second game of the year, earning a win against Bowling Green (2/18), allowing one run on three hits while striking out three in 5.0 innings... was stellar in a no-decision against Pepperdine (2/25), yielding one run on five hits and two walks while striking out two in 6.0 innings... logged another strong outing in a no-decision, allowing two runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out three in 7.0 innings against Brown (3/11)... picked up his first SEC win of the season against Auburn (4/9), allowing one run on five hits and one walk while striking out seven in 8.0 innings... was left with no-decision in a victory at Alabama (4/15), allowing one run on eight hits while striking out seven in 5.2 innings... struck out a career-high 11 batters over 7.0 innings in a no-decision against Tennessee (4/23)... took a no-hitter into the seventh inning at Missouri (4/30) and only allowed one hit and one hit batsman while striking out nine in 6.2 innings... left with another no-decision in a strong performance, allowing three runs, one earned, on four hits while equaling a career-high with 11 strikeouts against Mississippi State (5/6)... registered an epic performance in Texas A&M’s regional clinching victory at Houston (6/5), yielding two runs, one earned, on five hits and one walk while striking out nine on 8.1 innings.
 
2016 (FRESHMAN): Pitched in 12 games in his rookie campaign, including three starts... notched a 3-0 record with a 3.30 ERA, .252 opponent batting average and 21 strikeouts (13 walks) in 30.0 innings... appeared in five SEC games, all out of the bullpen, posting a 1-0 record with a 3.65 ERA, .209 opponent batting average and eight strikeouts (eight walks) in 12.1 innings... made career debut in a start against Prairie View A&M (2/24), scattering four hits and one walk while striking out four in a no-decision... retired all six batters he faced in relief, including one strikeout against Yale (3/4)... earned his first career victory versus Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (3/22), allowing three runs, two earned, on six hits and two walks while striking out three in 5.0 innings... logged two scoreless innings against Abilene Christian (4/12), scattering two hits and one walk while striking out three... earned a victory out of the bullpen versus Texas State (4/19), retiring nine of the 11 batters he faced in 3.0 scoreless innings... equaled a career-high with four strikeouts in 3.0 innings of relief against Vanderbilt (5/6)... played with the Mat-Su Miners of the Alaska Baseball League... pitched in eight games for the Miners, including seven starts... posted a 4-0 record with a 2.34 ERA and 33 strikeouts in 42.1 innings... named the Alaska League’s top prospect by Baseball America.
 
AT SHEPHERD HIGH SCHOOL: Kolek played under Joshua Jackson at Shepherd High School where he earned All-District 23-4A First Team accolades as a senior... also garnered All-District 22-3A First Team as a sophomore and All-District 22-3A Second Team as a junior, as well as Perfect Game 2013 Underclassman Honorable Mention and 2014 Underclassman First Team…his sophomore and junior year the Pirates went to the first round of playoffs and his senior year they advanced to the second round... also played summer baseball for the Houston Heat... along with baseball, he played varsity football and basketball for his junior and senior year receiving All-District honorable mention honors in basketball.
 
PERSONAL: Stephen James Kolek was born April 18, 1997 in Houston, Texas to James and Brenda Kolek... has one older brother, Tyler, who was the second overall pick of the 2014 MLB Draft, taken by the Miami Marlins with their first-round selection... is an agribusiness major who aspires to own and operate his own ranch... enjoys fishing, hunting and playing golf.
